Sam studied Linguistics and German at Indiana University. She is fascinated by the art of stringing words together to create language. After graduating with honors, Sam started working in the hospitality industry. During her time in hospitality, she found her passion for yoga when she challenged herself to try something new and walked into Beyond Zen yoga studio in South Bend, IN with no clue what to expect. She found herself overwhelmed with a welcoming atmosphere, loving kindness, and crying tears of joy during savasana. That was 2018, and as a result, she has never turned back.
After moving to Indianapolis at the start of 2020, Sam decided to leave hospitality and transition to selling insurance which provided her the opportunity to focus more on yoga. She decided to take her practice to the next level in 2020 and graduated from the inaugural yoga teacher class of Ahna Hoke Yoga in March of 2021. The experience of learning virtually has emphasized the importance of clear communication and provided an interesting hybrid platform on which to find her teacher's voice. She marvels over using words to encourage Individuals to find their Truth through the movement and interpretation of a yoga class. She encourages her students to find their Why, their Reason, their Purpose, and their Self.
